Located only a hop, skip and a twirl from Dalston Junction Overground station on Dalston Lane, Farr’s School of Dancing isn’t a school it’s a public house with a nostalgic vintage charm.
Taking its name from a dance school that occupied the building in the late 30s, we are heavily driven by locally and regionally sourced beverages and strive to serve a superb selection of craft beer and real ale. Across our six hand pumps, you can enjoy some of East London’s finest brews, draught and bottled beers, cocktails, fine wines and spirits.
Following a brief pop-up last year, our kitchen shutters are back open with a brand new menu; Farr’s School of Dinners. Taking a fun and laidback approach to good ol’ fashioned British pub food, our menu offers a selection of traditional home cooked dishes with a contemporary twist. Favouring freshly prepared seasonal produce, sourced locally and ethically wherever possible, you can enjoy artisan bar bites accompanied with chutneys and sauces, a selection of potted and jarred snacking dishes, school board sharing platters, hearty mains and indulgent desserts. Sunday Lunch sees our menu served with a selection of the best butchers’ cuts of meat, poultry and all the trimmings. We’re sure you will love our Sunday Roasts!
Venture downstairs and you will find our rather delightful basement bar – complete with DJ decks. Our basement provides the perfect backdrop for any party booking and private event, however big or small. For more information please ask a friendly member of our team.
Throughout the week we host a variety of free music events with DJs taking to the decks across Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. On the last Sunday of the month we have local movers and shakers ‘Up Town Swing’ taking over the front area with a lively get up and go swing dance social. We have loads more events in the pipeline so keep watch this space!
