Welcome to our little pop-up restaurant @ Farrs. All of our food is based around the South African braai (barbeque) style of cooking. Meat basted in sweet, mildly spiced goodness chargrilled over flames. Like the name suggests our food has a mild volcanic heat to it, not hot but just enough to warm the soul.
Our beef is the best the UK has to offer. We know where the cows were reared, what they were fed on and where they were butchered. Having this certified information allows us to serve our burgers medium as standard and if requested, rare. The burger blend is 40% chuck steak, 40% rib cap and 20% fat, making every mouthful juicy and delicious.
Our bread is baked daily and made from a combination of flour, water, yeast and mashed potato. As strange as this sounds it works and soaks up all of the wonderful juice from our burgers while maintaining their beautiful light fluffy integrity.
We love what we do and are very proud of our food, we hope you enjoy eating it as much as we enjoyed preparing it….
We are heavily driven by locally and regionally sourced beverages and strive to serve a superb selection of craft beer and real ale. Across our six hand pumps, you can enjoy some of East London’s finest brews, draught and bottled beers, cocktails, fine wines and spirits.
